Allan C. Carlson
contributor to Derailing the Constitution

Dr. Carlson is president of The Howard Center. He was president of The Rockford Institute, and was appointed in 1988 by President Reagan to serve as a member of the National Commission on Children, on which he served through 1991. Mr. Carlson has written extensively on the subjects of modern social history, family, policy, the relationship between foreign and domestic policies, the interaction of economics and culture, and modern religion. His books include Family Questions: Reflections on the American Social Crisis (Transaction, 1988) and The Swedish Experiment in Family Politics: The Myrdals and the Interwar Population Crisis (Transaction, 1990). Dr. Carlson received his Ph.D. in Modern European History from Ohio University.
