Dr. Stone is Professor of Sociology and Director of American Studies at Oglethorpe University in Atlanta, Georgia and has been an instructor at the University of Illinois, a Visiting Assistant Professor at the University of Iowa, and he has served as a Visiting Professor at Emory University on five different occasions in the last ten years. He is the author of numerous articles, reviews, and book chapters and his work has recently appeared in Society, Sociological Forum, Humanitas, and The Intercollegiate Review. He is the recipient of two teaching awards, a University Fellowship at the University of Illinois and an NEH Study Grant.
