Dr. Stoner is Associate Professor and Director of Graduate Studies in Political Science at Louisiana State University and is the author of Common Law and Liberal Theory: Coke, Hobbes, and the Origins of American Constitutionalism (University Press of Kansas, 1992). He is currently completing major studies of the influence of common law on
American constitutionalism and on the theoretical underpinnings of assertions
of judicial supremacy in America.
