ISI Books is pleased to announce that Peter Augustine Lawler, author of Aliens in America: The Strange Truth about Our Souls, has been named a George Washington Distinguished Professor by the Society of the Cincinnati in the State of Georgia. Dr. Lawler received the award in recognition of his publication, lectures, research, and teaching on the founding period of the United States. Dr. Lawler often lectures for ISI and has spoken at over fifty colleges and universities. A member of the Society of Scholars at the Madison Center at Princeton University, he is also the executive editor of the quarterly journal Perspectives on Political Science.
The Society of the Cincinnati was founded in 1783 by commissioned officers in the Continental Army, who elected Washington as its first president-general. The professorship award is intended to give
