ISI Books and Authors are Lauded by the Hometown Press

Recently, two Spring/Summer 2001 ISI Books titles were the subjects of stories in the hometown newspapers of their authors. Victor Davis Hanson, John Heath, and Bruce Thornton, authors of Bonfire of the Humanities: Rescuing the Classics in an Impoverished Age and residents of the Fresno, California area, found their book featured in a Fresno Bee article entitled "Read On" (July 3, 2001). The paper mentions Bonfire of the Humanities along with books by other local authors as an offering of summertime "food for thought," and interviewed Hanson for the piece.

Earlier this spring Hugh Mercer Curtler, author of Recalling Education, was interviewed for his hometown paper, the Marshall Independent. In "Total Recall" (May 5, 2001) Karin Elton explains the premise of Recalling Education and recounts Curtler's history as a champion of higher education.
